ARRIVING IN SIEM REAP, CAMBODIA Most tourists arrive by air, but you can also get there by bus from Thailand or Vietnam.
TIP If you decide to travel by land, go with a big bus tour. They are way more comfortable than mini buses.
GETTING AROUND A taxi from Siem Reap International Airport into town is about $5 US. This is prepaid; you buy it at the taxi counter at the airport. Most hotels and better guest houses provide airport transportation.
TIP Taxi drivers will offer their service to drive you around during your stay. This is standard practice. You can hire a driver for about $25 US per day for touring the temples at Angkor. Your hotel can also arrange a car for you.
There are also tuk-tuk's--motorbike powered carriages--for getting around town.
